Hi, is there a smart way to import historical data to an etf? An existing tradable etf?
Let’s assume I want to extend (in the past) historical data for an etf so I can back test it and also trade it today.
Is this possible ? With custom series I understood this is possible but it would be a different ticker, not connected to the etf , correct?
My apologies if this is a stupid question. I am a newbie.

No, but if you provide the data to us we can extend them.
The purpose of my question was to virtually extend IBIT back history. Pls don’t hate me
I read on some posts you do not want to do that (and I understand why). But i was looking for a workaround.
If I import BTCUSD as custom series I can use it in a buy/sell rule but I can’t use it in a universe as a symbol, correct?
I just wanted to test in the past a strategy that today would use IBIT but in the past the btc data.
Is there any workaround on this?

We have extended IBIT:USA to 2014.
It's only visible in the Stock pages now. Tonight the data will be loaded in the backtest engines.
Thanks for the suggestion

FYI: the volume for the extended data has been set to 0 because the correlation with the ETF volume was very low.
Thank you !
I saw few other requests on this (or related) in the posts so I am sure others will be happy.
