To answer your question, I recently back-tested these and saw a slight improvement in the Sharpe ratio and Sortino Ratio for each when used as a rank with the bottom X% dropped (which is likely not how they were intended to be used, but anyway…). I’m using pvdb’s formulas though, so I don’t think they’ve been updated for mgerstein’s corrections. All in all, could be useful.
