Add Asian and Emerging Markets (REVISED)

Having pledged as well. Actually, just got aware of this. Pretty sure that most users having added European data will add the Asian and Emerging Markets data as well.

Now we have reached 60k (my pledge is 5k + 2.5k). Still far from the goal but progressing. BTW, anyone here wanting to increase the pledge? In the end the money will come back to us. The pledge is more a sort of advance than an actual pledge. Advance that pays interests, in the form of the 20% discount.

Yes, I plan to increase my pledge once IBKR support for EU trading goes live.

I believe pledging this project will be a great ROI for any user.

depending on cost of the service and AUM

Good point - do we know what the annual cost would be?

Increased my pledge to 5k

If everyone increases their commitment by 50%, then we can get there immediately.

T.B.D, but inline with what we do now: Asia will be priced similarly to adding Europe to USA. Having all three will have further discounts.

We're at $65K, with around 20 different users pledging. So a bit short on both fronts: $ pledged and perhaps more importantly the # of people interested.

Non-retail users feel free to contact use directly to get this going.

"Just click on "Mar 2024" on the scrollbar in the right to go back to the first post . Then click on results to see who pledged. Your name does not appear there. You should be able to pledge again.

Totals are still disappointing. We will try to muster support by sending a mass email."

Did you guys ever send out a mass email?

sounds fair to me.

With regards to the number of interested users, we may have very few Asian investors.
Has P123 made any efforts to promote itself in Korea (e.g. via Naver or YouTube) or Japan (e.g. via Ameba)? Given the excellent product P123 has developed, why not invest some money to promote it in these two countries?

A good first step could be to find a local YouTuber to create videos on how to use P123 for investing. This wouldn’t require a large budget, but the potential impact could be significant. I’ve previously managed the marketing of an investment product in these countries, so feel free to reach out if you’d like more details.

it seems that we have now a bit more $ pledged (69K) and a bit more # of people (23)

let's keep up the effort, we'll get there :+1:

I dont blame P123 for not pouring time and investment into features people don't want, but I'm frankly a little shocked there aren't more P123 US users hungry for more international diversity currently. Particularly our US microcap investors. My US/Euro Universe ports are hitting all time highs, while I don't think I've seen sentiment around US small/microcaps this bad in 15 years. Also, if you're worried that many of our commonly used factors in the community are gettting overcrowded into a handful of microcap stocks, why wouldn't you want to spread out into newer markets?

Dear all,

US small-cap stocks are set for even more pain: Short interest as % of shares outstanding in the Russell 2000 index hit ~4.6%, the highest in at least 6 years.

This percentage has nearly DOUBLED since 2022.

Investors are betting on a further decline in small-cap stocks as they are extremely vulnerable to higher tariffs, in addition to slowing economic growth and elevated interest rates.

~42% of Russell 2000 companies are already unprofitable, even a higher share than at the peak of the 2008 Financial Crisis.

Tariffs are hurting small caps and small businesses.

James

Me too with 40% allocation to Polish equities :sunny: but slowly reducing ahead of the elections.
I may increase my pledge if necessary.

Yeah, it doesn't even require some super secret proprietary special sauce. The public P123 Multifactor Europe - Mid to Micro Cap model has been killing the SPY year to date (much less the RUT). It did the same thing in the 2022 US Bear Market. International diversification is good!!

It is expected in a way because the same reason big opportunities exist in emerging markets explain the relative lack of interest. You know how many of my friends I was able to convince to buy Argentina names when they were about to go up 10x? zero.
