Currently if you use your own custom universe there’s no way to use a different reconstitution frequency than the backtest. For example if your backtest rebalances every 4 weeks , the custom universe will also be reconstituted every 4 weeks. It is often desirable to have universes reconstitute at longer intervals like quarterly or annually.
