I got an email from AlphaVantage informing me “as a memeber” of new features. Hmmmm….
I had forgotten but it is an API that allowed downloads directly into a Jupyter Notebook. I am sure other APIs can do this but it was simple for this non-programmer. I have ended up having to download into a csv file for some APIs. The free version allows a usable limit of data that renews every 5 minutes or so. I forget the exact details but a fairly large amount of data can be downloaded for free.
The email says it has new “Market News & Sentiment API.”
I have not tried this recent edition but what I have used the API in the past and it was pretty functional for most of my needs at the time: AlphaVantage
