This database first became available on July 11th, 2023 as a data feed. I got to wondering about this due to an email I received on Feb. 11th, 2026, where it said,
“Accuracy Upgrades: Market Cap & Ratios
We are rolling out two data accuracy improvements: transitioning Market Cap to FactSet point in time data and improving how certain valuation ratios anchor prices to earnings announcement dates.”
But now that I’m looking more closely, it seems like the Market Cap change was unrelated to what FactSet calls their PIT database.
