Broker accounts that work well with multiple Port123 portfolios

Does anyone have experience with brokers that make it easy to match an actual trading account with multiple portfolios?

Is there a broker that offers groupings of stocks that can be set up to parallel Portfolio123 ports? I use Scottrade and their Elite software. I have one account holding the stocks for multiple 123 portfolios. I am always going through a balancing exercise trying to look at the performance of a 123 port and seperate it out of the total in my brokerage account.

I want to look at a sub account or account that has the stocks for a given 123 port. I would know I started the sub account and the 123 port with 100K, for example, and the balance in the account tells me immediately how the 123 port is doing. I also know if the brokerage account is close to the port123 port in total dollars. If I run 5 ports I need 5 sub accounts or accounts. It sounds simple to me and I am sure the feature is available. I do know that Scottrade cannot handle it. They won’t allow more than 3 accounts. They can “link” the 3 accounts but can’t go over 3.

In the threads there has been discussion about grouping 123 ports so you can look at the total return of multiple ports. This is kind of the same concept but at the brokerage level. Anyone have a suggestion?

I use Amertirade which allows you to create just the sort of sub account you are looking for (that’s what I do).

You can also use the Yahoo home page (My Yahoo) to track as many separate ports. as you like. Just enter the symbol, number of shares and price paid. It does the rest for you. If you buy or sell a stock make the changes to the port. You can’t get a running percentage or dollar gain/loss on the history of the port., but you can track your current holdings.

FolioFn gives you 3 ‘folios’ (if you have the higher level subscription). I think you can have multiple folios for the same account. Performance is tracked seperately for each folio.

All,

Fidelity has no limit to the number of brokerage accounts you can open. I currently have 9 P123 active Ports, and have 9 Fidelity accounts to keep up with them and keep them separate.
For Active Traders, they have $8 trades no mater how many shares you trade. With their Active Trader Pro software it is easy to trade in any one of the accounts, and display them all together or separately. You can have all accounts combined into one electronic or paper monthly statement.
