IMPORTANT: read this if you use Shares Float and related factors

We have rolled back this change until we investigate further

Dear All,

We rolled out by mistake the new Float factor and derived factors we have been working on. We were going to make these new values available for testing, and give you some time to adjust, but instead they are now live. The following factors have been affected:

Float
FloatPct
SI%Float
SI%FloatPM
SI%FloatPM2
SI%FloatPM3

There's no way around this change in Float (and derived factors) for several reasons. First of all the current history of Float has been built by snapshotting present values. Snapshotting is a very error prone process that accumulates errors and requires a lot of time to maintain. Secondly we did not have Float for Europe since we never had values to snapshot (we were simply defaulting Float to SharesQ).

Unfortunately the new values are now live, and there's no way for you to compare the before and after. We will either: 1) undo the changes and give you access to the new values or 2) give you access to the old values to compare.

Very sorry about this

Good to know- thanks Marco

Its clearly very different than it was. I would roll back the changes and give users a chance to properly test an evaluate the new factors. It has significantly impacted my models. But thankfully no trades. What was the goal of the new factors?

On the plus side, using shares % outstanding now looks very good by comparison

We have reverted back to the old float values until further investigation. Sorry about that.
