SIGA is doing well

SIGA Technologies, Inc. has done well in my portfolio recently (up 53%). Occasionally I try to find out why. The answer had some medical interest for me. SIGA has developed TPOXX (tecovirimat) which has activity against smallpox which is an orthopoxvirus. I guess it is possible that governments are buying it out of fear that the smallpox virus may be used in an attack of some sort.

But it also treats Monkeypox (another orthopoxvirus). I suspect this is the main reason SIGA is doing well. Here is a link for the treatment of Monkeypox (including discussion of tecovirmimat): What To Do if You Have Monkeypox

Maybe I am the only one interested in this. But for me it was interesting indeed. :slightly_smiling_face:
