Suggestion: Refine Snapshot Timeline for News

Hi, I wanted to drop a suggestion for consideration for filtering the news timeline in the snapshots area.

The problem: Seems there's been a considerable surge in AI generated news articles (or just low value news articles in general) that are cluttering up the timeline making it difficult too find things related to actual company earnings reports and/or conference call information. I would like to see a filter to help cull the news in more useful way. Right now there's a single "News" checkmark and I feel like maybe given the proliferation there could be additional segmentation.

Possible solution: Be able to isolate news to official news releases and conference call information from the company. From what I can tell news from "Business Wire" or "PR Newswire" or "GlobeNewsWire" tend to be company announcements or earnings announcement related. (There may be other wire services, but those are 3 I've noticed.) Additionally filtering on the terms like "Conference Call" or "Earnings Call" or "Transcript" tend to get the text of earnings calls.

I'd find it'd be useful to be able to filter the news as described above. I've attached a photo for example of alot of the noise in the feed that I'd like to be able to filter to more quicky find official earning reports and conference call transcripts.

Anyhow, just an idea submitted for consideration. All the best,

Totally agree! This would be very handy. Too much noise in the news feed at the moment.

I've noticed this earnings season that some official earnings releases from companies are not hitting the feed at all, but do get 3rd party reaction articles. Going to investor relations for individual companies more often for the release. That may be best way going forward.

I always wanted this. Specially a way to exclude Zacks "news". Also the ability to go back in time to see what happened (we do not store news).

We do not have the data at the moment. It's just an RSS feed from Yahoo news. Getting a proper news feed will of course have additional costs.

I'll move this thread to feature requests to see how many votes it gets.

Thanks

Hi Marco, I replied by mistake via email. I should've posting that email reply here"

Marco, I was hoping it was something that could just be identified and highlighted from the existing feed. Certainly wasn't meaning to add any cost, and am not sure I'd want to add any cost - I am pretty cost sensitive and can web search for investor relation pages that usually have it. It is kindof strange how difficult it's becoming to find the wheat in the growing chaff though and will get worse given AI generation imho. Even relatively recent news can quickly scroll off of the feed given the volume, including the official earnings report if it's there. It may be a losing battle? I don't know. Maybe bullish google? ha

I looked. There's nothing in the feed that has the source. Would take some work to extract the source. Probably following every link.
