I'm a relatively new user of Portfolio123, but I have several decades of experience in investment banking (Goldman) and with a hedge fund (Citadel), and now retired. The learning curve with P123 is fairly steep, and occasionally, I've been frustrated by my inability to find the correct documentation to get a needed answer.
Today was a significant breadth-thrust day in the market with advancers outnumbering decliners by more than 90% - based partially on Trump's about-face regarding "firing" Fed Chair Jerome Powell. When I review the breadth series I made to track advancing/declining issues and volume, I see both series show yesterday's results but not today's.
Can someone tell me when this data will propagate across the P123 data, and where I might have found that info in the documentation? I'm not a day trader or anything like that, but it's good information to know. Thank you!
Today's prices are updated for use in screens, simulations, series, and so on at around 11 PM Central time. You can see the update schedule here https://www.portfolio123.com/server_status.jsp or by clicking on the three dots at the upper center of your home page.
Thank you very much for your welcome! I truly appreciate you reaching out to me. Unfortunately, I had a rough start with my first post in the forum a few days ago. Another member made some insulting comments about my investing skills without knowing anything about me.
However, following that interaction, I received private messages from two other users and a staff member encouraging me to disregard the negative comments, as they were not typical of the community. I also learned that the administrator temporarily suspended the abusive user. This made it clear to me that I had just experienced bad luck, and my first encounter was not the norm.
As someone experienced in the industry, I am still very impressed by the platform's capabilities, and I am actively learning how to utilize all of its features. Your welcome message adds a nice touch to my first weeks here. Thanks again!
