I’m curious - how many people on here have 1500 or more hours of experience using portfolio123? (Including time spent researching and writing formulas to add)
I have no idea how many hours I have spent on the site, but it was way over 1500 hours even before I started working for P123 in 2020. P123 has been my favorite site for 2 decades and I have been using it almost daily for 22 years. There are always new experiments to do and strategies to explore.
I’m definitely over 1500 hours at this point. I would have done better to be more deliberate with that time but I enjoy playing around a lot too.
I'm in the same camp as Dan, though I've only been using it almost daily since 2015.
I'm probably in that category. Going forward, Claude's work-hours should probably be added to my total hours. Conservatively, doubling the effective "man/machine-hours" going forward.
I have. I was around 15 years ago - then had a 12 or 13 year break where I wasn’t actively investing. Now I am here daily monitoring, trading, researching etc.
Wish I could see that in the site. Can’t imagine it being less than 5000 maybe even 10000, but not sure. Most of it years ago. That would translate to a realistic amount of hours per day since I joined in 2013 so it does not sound too extreme given that
I’m another one in that category. I first subscribed to P123 21 years ago. During the early years both P123 and the early members went through a significant number of screens and simulations that didn’t hold up post discovery. However Marco and his team have improved the tools, the user guidelines and almost everything else connected to the site. The addition of the AI tools also seems to have brought a number of more sophisticated (Statistically, Financially and almost every other way) into the fold. I retired more than 26 years ago and have lived primarily off my investments over the entire period. I currently have a couple of P123 AI models simulations running and another one developed with Claude using P123 data downloads. Returns are potentially great, but the volatility has me starting to hold back as I get older (any returns would only go to my children). I have used P123 as more of a research tool and data source rather than investing entirely using the screens or sims but it has been valuable enough that I currently have the ultimate version. If I were 20 years younger, I would be invested 100% using P123. The only way I’m aware of that enables you (with significant effort) to outperform the market.
A member since 2013, retired then (2nd time) and actively using Portfolio123 several times a week to manage real investments ever since. It’s been a great experience. Rough estimate of time spent: 8 hrs/wk, 50 hrs/yr, 12 yrs = 4800 hrs (just a guess).
A conservative estimate is over 15,000 hours. 15 years by at least 20 hours a week.
Much more than 1,500 hours for me.
Wow, it’s incredible to hear all the experience everyone has and that there are so many long term users still using p123. Thanks everyone for the comments! Cool to see all the knowledge right here between everyone.
I've been a heavy user since 2014. Since that time I've gotten married, had two children and retired. I shudder to think how many collective hours I've spent on the site. ~12 years later and I think my research/project to-do list is the longest its ever been. It never ends.
